Honest Comparison

Looking at Hook Agency?
Here's the honest comparison.

Hook is a strong agency targeting roofing, HVAC, electrical, and pest control contractors in the $1M-$15M+ revenue band. Their retainers run $3,500/mo at the entry (Silver) through $15,000+/mo at Enterprise, and their custom website builds are $12K-$24K paid over 12 months. I'm built for the shop one tier below: flat-fee deliverables for crews who want the work done without the agency relationship.

Hook Agency vs StratosReach.

Dimension Hook Agency StratosReach
Pricing model Monthly retainer. Silver $3,500/mo · Gold $7,300/mo · Platinum $10,300/mo · Enterprise $15,000+/mo. Websites: Standard $12K total ($1K/mo × 12) · Custom $24K total ($2K/mo × 12). Flat fee, no retainer. SEO Rescue $1,495. Full Site $2,695. GBP Rescue $297. Lead lists $395-$1,150. Pay once.
What you actually get Bundled stack scaled to tier: website design, ad management, local SEO (starter or full), GBP management, lead tracking, backlinking, technical SEO, map-pack SEO. À la carte: Starter Local SEO $2,800/mo · Aggressive Local SEO $4,800/mo · GBP $1,000/mo. One-time deliverable per order: Core 30 service hub with trades-voice copy, full 30-day SEO plan executed (GBP rebuild, schema, sitemap, Search Console submission), or a one-day GBP overhaul. No ongoing campaign management.
Contract / retainer Monthly retainers with a website split over 12 months. The website essentially binds you to 12 months of payments. No retainer. No contract. Each deliverable is its own purchase.
Who owns the work You own the website at the end of the 12-month payment plan. Ongoing SEO work and ad accounts typically live inside Hook's stack. You own everything. Site on your hosting from day one. GBP and SEO work is in your Google accounts.
Best fit Contractors doing $1M-$15M+ in revenue who want a single agency running ads, SEO, and the website together, and who can absorb $42K-$180K+/year in marketing spend. Contractors under that ceiling (solo operators, small crews, shops doing under $1M) who want the same work (SEO, GBP, sites) done once at a flat fee, no monthly bill.

They're good at what they do.

Full-service for shops with real budget

If you're running $4M in revenue and you want one agency handling the website, the SEO, the Google Ads, the GBP, and the technical work in one bundle, Hook is built for exactly that. The Gold and Platinum tiers earn their price for contractors at that scale.

Ad management is in the stack

I don't run paid ads. Hook does, and they bundle it with the rest. For shops where the math says "we should be spending $10K/mo on Google Ads," they're a real one-stop option.

Aggressive Local SEO at $4,800/mo

If you're competing in a top-20 metro for a high-value trade like roofing, you genuinely need the firepower their Aggressive Local SEO tier brings: backlinking, content cadence, map-pack work. That's a different motion than a one-time Rescue.

When you don't need an agency, you need the work done.

Flat fee, no $42K/year floor

The entry retainer at Hook is $3,500/mo, which is $42K/yr. My SEO Rescue is $1,495 once. A Full Site is $2,695 once. For a shop under $1M in revenue, the retainer math doesn't pencil. You're paying agency overhead before you see your first lead.

You own the work from day one

Their website is paid over 12 months and you own it at the end of that schedule. Mine is yours the day it goes live, on your hosting, no payment schedule binding you to the relationship.

Same SEO surfaces, executed once

GBP rebuild, LocalBusiness schema, technical SEO cleanup, Search Console submission. Those are concrete one-time tasks. Hook runs them on a retainer cadence because that's their model. I run them once, do them right, and the rank gain is yours to hold.

Trades-insider voice, not agency polish

I came up around concrete crews. The copy reads like a contractor wrote it, not an account exec. For a shop trying to look like itself online instead of like every other Hook-built site, that's the whole pitch.

Two different shops, two different products.

Pick Hook Agency if you're past $1M in revenue, you want one agency running ads + SEO + website + GBP together, you have an ops person who can manage the agency relationship, and your math says monthly marketing spend over $3,500 makes sense. Their Gold and Platinum tiers are honest pricing for the scope.

Pick StratosReach if you're under that revenue line, you want the SEO and GBP and website done once and done right, you don't want a monthly invoice on your books, and you'd rather buy the deliverables than rent an agency. Flat fee, walk away whenever, work is yours.

Common questions.

Yes, by a lot, but we're not selling the same product. Hook's entry retainer is $42K/year. My SEO Rescue is a one-time $1,495 and the GBP Rescue is $297. If what you need is "do the SEO work and the GBP work once, well, and let me run the business," I'm an order of magnitude cheaper. If what you need is "manage all of my marketing as an ongoing service, including ads," Hook is the right shop and price doesn't compare cleanly.
Possible but uncommon. The cleanest split would be Hook running your paid ads and ongoing campaigns, with me coming in for a one-time SEO Rescue or GBP Rescue if there's specific work their retainer isn't covering. Most shops pick one or the other.
No. I don't run paid ads. My work is organic: SEO, GBP, the website, the lead list. If paid ad management is core to what you need, Hook is built for that and I'm not. I'll say it straight rather than try to stretch into work I don't do.
Then I'm probably the better fit. Their Silver tier is scoped to $1M-$2M businesses; below that, the $3,500/mo math doesn't work. You'd be spending a large slice of revenue on marketing overhead before seeing returns. Flat-fee, one-time work fits a smaller shop's cash flow better.

If Hook's the right fit for your scale, I'll say so. If you'd be over-buying with them, I'll say that too.
